This afternoon you will be welcomed at the Best Western Travel Inn, Carlton on the northern edge of the CBD & just a block from Melbourne’s famous Lygon Street, known as Little Italy & one of Melbourne’s finest Restaurant & Café precincts. Be sure to find Brunetti’s Café famous for their mouth-watering cakes & pastries & wonderful coffee. Brunetti’s is just 2 blocks easy stroll from the Travel Inn with an entrance from Drummond St through the Woolworth’s arcade to Lygon St. All Motel rooms have a walk-in shower recess & are accessed by an internal lift so there is no need to use stairs. Day 3- The Dandenong’s & the Yarra Valley
For the inquiring traveller who loves to follow roads which promise some new discovery around every corner then today you will find the Dandenong’s an endless source of enjoyment. Pass through the lively, colourful villages, which are always busy with visitors. The clear crisp air, the towering mountain ash & feathery tree ferns create a magical world. Travel through Kallista, Sassafras & Olinda & recapture the romance and charm of the bygone days of steam on Australia’s oldest steam railway, The Puffing Billy. This unique steam train is still running on its original mountain track through the beautiful forests and fern gullies of the magnificent Dandenong Ranges. Lunch will be provided at Grants on Sherbrooke deep in the Dandenong Forest, before continuing onto the Yarra Valley synonymous with boutique wines & gourmet fare. Visit one of Victoria’s leading wineries for a tasting as you travel back to Melbourne this afternoon.

Day 4-Melbourne: Yarra River Cruise, Free Choice afternoon
This morning you will enjoy an informative Yarra River Cruise. View Melbourne’s River side attractions as you glide down the Yarra, past Docklands & the city skyline. This afternoon after lunch you may choose to stay on in the city & explore the CBD yourself with a coach pick up as organised by your driver or you can choose to return to the Motel to relax & maybe enjoy a coffee in nearby Lygon Street. The free City Circle Tram is an ideal way to get around to each of the Melbourne’s CBD locations & also informative & a lot of fun. Pick up a Melbourne guide map so you can choose the places that especially interest you- it is so easy on the Tram which stops at each location of interest on the city circuit including The Melbourne Museum, The Old Treasury City Museum, Old Melbourne Gaol, Federation Square & of course some of the best shopping precincts in Australia.

Day 5- Phillip Island
It is a late return tonight so it is a slightly later departure at around 9am for Phillip Island at a time as advised by your coach driver, which varies according to daylight saving time. Take warm clothes with you today, as it is often very chilly at all times of the year at the Penguin Parade this evening. Spectacular scenery, amazing wild-life colonies, a dash of pioneering spirit and world class facilities are just some of the ingredients that make Phillip Island a day of adventure and discovery. It’s just off the mainland but Phillip Island seems like a world away. Lunch will be provided upon arrival in Cowes. Dinner cannot be provided tonight however there will be time to treat yourself to a coffee & a snack at the Penguin Café before the Penguins start to arrive. During the day you will visit historic Churchill Island before Nobbys where you will enjoy the amazing views along the coastline & out to Seal Rocks home to Australia’s largest Australian Fur Seal colony & the Antarctic experience is incredible. The audio-visual spectacular puts you right in the heart of the action with whales, seals, sharks and more as if you are really in the Antarctic. This evening as the sun sets you will experience what is probably Victoria’s premier attraction as the little penguins expertly catch the waves into Summerland Beach and begin there brisk, but ungainly walk up the beach and over the sand hills to their burrows for the night. Phillip Island is alive with natural wonders & a really memorable experience.

Day 6- Depart Melbourne & travel via Seymour to Albury
This morning visit The Melbourne International Flower Show or Melbourne’s Queen Victoria Markets before leaving Melbourne. The flower show is one of the most spectacular in Australia and you’ll certainly enjoy your time strolling through the incredible displays. The Queen Victoria Market has been the heart and soul of Melbourne for more than a century. A historic landmark spread over two city blocks, it is a vibrant and bustling inner-city Market where you can shop for everything from fruit and vegetables, and local and imported gourmet foods, to cosmetics, clothing, and souvenirs. Depart Melbourne with lunch provided in Seymour & an afternoon comfort stop along the way. Overnight accommodation & meals will be provided at the Quality Resort Siesta in Albury subject to availability. Your contact number tonight at the Siesta will be 02 60254555
