Monday, 28th April, 2025


Day One: To Ballina
Join your luxury coach for the journey north to the Northern Rivers region. The Pacific Highway is now an excellent road with dual highway all the way apart from the short section passing through Coffs Harbour. An early morning break will be provided at the Service Centre on the M1 freeway where you can purchase a coffee & a snack. Lunch will be provided in the Port Macquarie area with comfort stops as required as your journey to Ballina continues. Check into the Ballina Beach Resort before a delicious dinner at the Resort tonight. Your contact number during your stay will be 02 6686 8888.

Day Two: Lennox Head & Byron Bay
This morning it is only a short journey north to Byron Bay along the scenic coastal route via Lennox Head. Visit Byron Bay’s famous Lighthouse, located on Australia’s most easterly point. This region provides some of the most picturesque coastal scenery on the east coast. A morning tea break with some time for a look around this fascinating town before lunch provided locally. As you return to Ballina this afternoon the final stop will be at the Macadamia Castle offering a delicious range of ice creams along with coffee & some unique gifts. This afternoon on return to Ballina you have a free choice. You can choose to return to the Resort to relax & enjoy the pool or maybe even take a stroll along the nearby beach or the north wall breakwater where the Richmond River meets the Pacific, or the coach will also offer to drop off in the main street & pick up at a time to be advised by your driver. Ballina has an extensive range of country style stores & worth a visit.

Day Three: Tropical Fruit World
This morning journey north on the Pacific Highway with time for a morning tea break upon arrival at Tropical Fruit World at Duranbah, just south of the Qld border. Enjoy a Farm tour & taste some of Queensland’s best fresh fruit. This is a fifth-generation Australian family business operating for over 30 years & claims to be the home of the world’s largest variety of tropical fruit. Lunch will be provided here with time to visit their on-site store which has a unique range of gourmet products. This afternoon as you return to Ballina detour into the quaint country village of Mullumbimby. Off the Highway, it is a town seldom seen by travellers. Mullumbimby is situated at the foot of Mount Chincogan which towers 260m. above the town, beside the Brunswick River. Known fondly by the locals as ‘Mullum’ it is known as the counter-culture capital of the Byron Shire where residents continue to embrace the laid-back, alternative lifestyle.

Day Four: Yamba
This morning travel south to Iluka at the mouth of the Clarence River to board the local Ferry across the River to Yamba. A cup of coffee or tea on board the Ferry. Arrive in Yamba with time for a stroll along the quaint main street before lunch provided at the iconic Pacific Hotel overlooking Yamba Beach & providing some of the  best views of the Pacific Ocean on the East Coast. Enjoy a circuit of Yamba as you depart & subject to having suitable weather detour into the charming village of Evans Head as you return to Ballina this afternoon.

Day Five: Alstonville & the Northern Rivers Hinterland
Start the day with a morning visit to the Ballina Maritime Museum before the short journey to the nearby quaint village of Alstonville. Enjoy a lunch in the tranquil surroundings of Summerland Farm (House with No Steps) along with a brief talk about this wonderful facility founded as a training ground for people with disabilities. Farm tours are currently not available. Enjoy a brief talk about the Farm while you have lunch & do not miss visiting their extensive retail outlet before you leave. After lunch follow the scenic country route & travel through Lismore and then back via the Bangalow Road through the rolling green foothills through Bexhill, Clunes & Bangalow with an afternoon break.

Day Six: Homeward bound
An earlier breakfast to be ready for an early departure this morning. A morning tea break followed by lunch normally provided at Nabiac plus plenty of comfort stops during the day. As your journey continues home, we hope you take with you some wonderful memories of your experiences in the Northern Rivers & Ballina.
